Caring for your jewellery

Handmade jewellery rewards a little care. A few simple habits will keep your Zeva pieces looking new for decades.

Everyday wear

Put your jewellery on last — after perfume, lotion and hair products — and take it off first when you come home. Chlorine, salt water and household cleaners are the main enemies of plated finishes and softer stones.

Cleaning at home

Silver and gold: warm water, a drop of mild soap, soft toothbrush. Pat dry with a lint-free cloth.

Pearls, opals, emeralds: wipe with a dry, soft cloth only. Never soak.

Polish with a jeweller's cloth once a month to keep metals bright.

Storage

Store each piece separately in the cotton pouch it arrived in, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Silver tarnishes faster in open air — pouches help.
